Western US Regional Sales Manager (posted May 22, 2018)

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

PACE, Incorporated (a.k.a. PACE Worldwide), the recognized leader in solder, desolder, rework and fume extraction equipment, is looking for an energetic team player to fill the role of Western U.S. Regional Sales Manager. The candidate must be highly motivated, have strong technical knowledge of PCB assembly and rework, be able to train both our sales network and end users, have excellent communication skills and be a strong team player.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for overall growth and expansion of sales in the region and component territories.
  2. Responsible for growth and expansion of key and target account opportunities within Region.
  3. Responsible for evaluation, recommendation and selection of new Reps and Distributors within the region and ensures their proper training and indoctrination.
  4. Responsible for management and review of Rep and Distributor effectiveness.
  5. Provides technical, training and administrative support for Reps, Distributors and Key Customers.
  6. Acts as a liaison/communications link between Rep/Distributor and Customer Service, Technical Product Support, Service and other internal departments at PACE.
  7. Helps coordinate promotional/co-op activities within a region by making recommendations to and working with the Director of Sales or equivalent.
  8. Provides help with Customer Service related issues by teaming with Customer Service Coordinators.
  9. Provides concise and factual status reports, phone messages, e-mail, etc. on own activities as well as those in the region, including competitive activities, Rep/Distributor issues, key account information, Customer Service issues, successes, etc.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

College graduate preferred with three to five years of prior experience in the sales of production equipment, or, has performed duties similar to those required for this position. Previous experience in managing a sales/distribution network for industrial products, particularly in the electronics industry, is highly desirable. Technical background and education preferred. Must possess excellent public speaking ability and good organizational, motivational and written communication skills. Preferred proficiency in the following computer software: MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint; any e-mail system. Willing and able to travel approximately 75% of the time.
